On behalf of the ESGO Council and officers, the Scientific Committee, and the Local Organising Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to join the 18th Biennial Meeting of the European Society for Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), to be held from October 19-22, 2013 in Liverpool, UK.
Following the tradition of previous meetings, this will be an excellent opportunity to learn about new developments in the field of gynaecological oncology, to meet old colleagues and to make new friends.
Each ESGO meeting offers attendees many opportunities for the dissemination, discussion and debate of the updated medical and scientific information for gynaecological cancer treatment and care. Every two years it has attracted an even larger number of participants from all over Europe and across the world. We hope that this meeting will be no exception.
The four-day scientific program running in 4 parallel halls will offer popular educational sessions (State-of-the-Art sessions, Tumor Boards, Sunrise Sessions), as well as novel formats (Video sessions, Special lectures, a Fellow´s Course, intimate Glass with the Expert sessions, Communication Skills Workshop, and others).
The Scientific Program Committee gathered suggestions from ESGO members, ESGO task forces and international collaborative groups, and to formulate this well-balanced program, covering as many possible aspects and topics, from translational research to State-of-the-Art sessions on clinical management, from keynote lectures to workshops on colposcopy or surgical teaching films, from molecular biomarkers or cancer stem cells to psycho-oncology, imaging, HPV testing, fertility preservation, recurrent disease, or end of life treatment, from all major gynecological tumors to low malignant potential tumors or gestational trophoblastic disease.
Parallel programs will be held for nurses and patients’ initiatives. Invitations have been sent to over a hundred leading speakers from Europe and overseas. Many partners, including ESGO task forces, international collaborative groups or selected national societies will organize their special sessions. Following ESGO tradition, cash prizes will be awarded to the Best Poster, Best Oral Presentation, and Best Young Investigator as well as a new prize, for ESGO quiz winners!
